Volunteer Visiting Services

Professionally trained and supported volunteers offer non-medical support to individuals living with a progressive life-threatening illness.

Volunteers can assist with:

  • Practical and emotional support at home, hospital or in long term care
  • Drives to medical appointments, running errands or other outings
  • Short-term respite for family caregivers, enabling them to have some time out of the home Telephone support
  • Advocacy and referral service to ensure all needs are met

Visits are for up to three hours every one or two weeks. Volunteer teams may provide additional support if needed. Upon referral, a Registered Nurse visits the home to assess client and family need and assigns an appropriate volunteer to provide support.
